The dialogue is raw and real, the struggles grounded and impactful, and the characters fleshed-out and believable. All around, I had a great time watching this.
Costner and Harrelson certainly have a curmudgeonly chemistry about them, but there is depth left on the table that is only hinted at, and never truly explored.
The direction and action overcame the script issues I had, and I really appreciated the quality of the set pieces.
I wanted a fun, popcorn blockbuster in space and that’s exactly what I got.
